Healing, growth, and change do not always fit neatly into a traditional therapy hour.
Sometimes we benefit from the consistency of individual or couples therapy. Sometimes we need opportunities to learn and practice alongside others. And sometimes we need more uninterrupted time to explore something deeply.
This fall, I am expanding the ways that people can work with me through E. Wright Counseling & Consulting, LLC. In addition to continuing individual and couples psychotherapy, I am introducing Embodiment Practice Groups and Therapy Intensives. These new offerings provide different containers for learning, exploration, connection, practice, and healing.

Embodiment Practice Group
Know yourself. Fuel yourself. Embody what you want to offer.
Beginning in October 2026, I will be offering Embodiment, a 10-week coaching, educational, and experiential practice group.
Embodiment also draws from concepts and practices explored in my upcoming book, Being Love: Cultivating Inner Abundance & Joy, bringing some of that work off the page and into an experiential space where we can explore and practice it together.
At the heart of Embodiment is a simple idea: We cannot continually ask our bodies to carry us through our lives without accounting for the organism doing the carrying.
Many of us become incredibly good at functioning. We work. We parent. We care for others. We meet deadlines. We navigate transitions. We solve problems. We keep going. And sometimes, somewhere within all of that functioning, we recognize:
I’ve been functioning and surviving, but I want to feel more present and fulfilled inside my own life.
Embodiment creates intentional space to begin exploring that question.
Who Is the Embodiment Practice Group For?
You may be carrying a lot.
You may be navigating a career change or another life transition. You may be exploring your own identity and needs or experiencing health or body changes. You may spend much of your time caring for others—as a parent, caregiver of an adult, parent of a neurodivergent child, educator, helping professional, or simply someone accustomed to continuously functioning and attending to what needs to be done.
Or perhaps nothing is particularly “wrong.” You simply recognize that you want something more than functioning. You want to feel more present. More connected to yourself. More intentional about how you use your energy. More aware of what your body needs. More connected in your relationships. More able to experience joy, curiosity, rest, play, creativity, and meaning.
You want to move beyond performing and obligation toward a life that feels more fulfilling, intentional, connected, and thriving.

What Will We Explore?
Over 10 weeks, we will explore:
- Self-image
- Wonders and strengths
- Values
- Sleep and rest
- Nutrition and nourishment
- Play
- Nature
- Music and rhythm
- Movement
- Connection with self and others
- Integration into everyday life
Nature, nervous-system awareness, experiential activities, reflection, group conversation, and practical between-session practices will be woven throughout the experience.
The goal is not simply to learn more information. It is to practice. This is an ACTIVE group.

To notice what happens in your actual life. To become curious about what fuels you and what depletes you. To experiment with different ways of caring for yourself. To learn from others. And, little by little, to practice embodying what you want to offer—to yourself, your relationships, your work, your family, and your life.
A 10-Week Practice, Not a Drop-In Group
Embodiment is intentionally designed as a 10-week experience rather than a series of individual drop-in classes.
Each week builds upon the awareness, learning, and practices developed during the weeks before it. The consistency of the group also gives participants an opportunity to learn and practice together over time. Participants are therefore asked to register with the intention of participating in the complete 10-week experience.
And, of course, life happens. If you need to miss a session, you will still have access to that week’s practice and reflection exercises so that you can continue your own work and reconnect with the group the following week.

Both groups follow the same Embodiment curriculum.
Is Embodiment Therapy?
No.
Embodiment is a coaching, educational, and experiential practice group. It is separate from psychotherapy and is not billed to insurance.
Current individual and couples therapy clients are welcome to participate. The learning, themes, and practices explored through Embodiment may complement and support therapeutic goals, but participating in Embodiment does not replace psychotherapy.
All participants complete a separate registration and informed-consent process before joining the group. This process outlines the purpose and scope of Embodiment, what participants can expect, potential benefits and limitations, confidentiality and group expectations, and the distinction between the practice group and psychotherapy.
Therapy Intensives
Sometimes 50 or 60 minutes simply isn’t enough. You begin to settle. You find the thread. Your body begins to feel safe enough to explore something. You and your partner finally reach the conversation underneath the conversation. And then the hour is over.
Therapy Intensives create more space.
Rather than dividing deeper work across multiple traditional therapy sessions, an intensive provides a longer, concentrated period in which we can slow down, explore, regulate, reflect, practice, and integrate.
Individual Therapy Intensives
Individual intensives may be useful when you want concentrated time for:
- Longer EMDR work
- Deeper self-exploration
- Focused work around a particular pattern, experience, decision, or life transition
- Nervous-system and body-centered work
- Experiential therapeutic activities
- Reflection and integration without having to stop after a traditional therapy hour
Couples Therapy Intensives
Couples intensives provide extended time for partners to slow down and work together.
Rather than spending much of a traditional session arriving, updating, and then beginning the work just before it is time to stop, an intensive gives us room to stay with what emerges.
Our time may include couples exploration activities, therapeutic conversation, experiential exercises, nervous-system regulation and grounding practices with your partner, opportunities for connection and reflection, and focused exploration of the patterns affecting your relationship.
The goal isn’t simply to talk longer. The additional time allows us to move between talking, experiencing, regulating, practicing, resting, reflecting, and reconnecting.
Intensive Options
3-Hour Intensive
A concentrated block for focused individual or couples’ work.
6-Hour Intensive
A more immersive day allowing time for exploration, experiential work, nervous-system regulation, breaks, reflection, and integration.
2-Day or 3-Day Retreat-Style Intensive
Extended therapeutic work spread across two or three days for individuals or couples wanting a deeper and more spacious experience. An immersive therapeutic experience creating room for deeper exploration, connection, regulation, reflection, experiential activities, and intentional practice over several days.
Therapy Intensives are self-pay services and are not billed to insurance.
Additional information regarding intensive structure, preparation, scheduling, availability, and fees will be available soon.
Different Containers for Different Needs

There is no single right way to do this work. Sometimes what we need is the steady rhythm of therapy. Sometimes we need community and the opportunity to practice. Sometimes we need time. And sometimes we need a different container entirely.
My intention in expanding these offerings is to create more ways for people to engage in healing, exploration, learning, connection, and growth—while choosing the kind of experience that makes sense for where they are right now.
Individual Therapy. Couples Therapy. Embodiment Practice Groups. Therapy Intensives. Different containers.
The same larger intention: To move beyond simply surviving and functioning, toward becoming more present, connected, intentional, and fully alive within our own lives.
