Being Love Is Real: A Manuscript Milestone

by Ellen Swann Wright

There are moments when something you have carried internally for years suddenly becomes tangible. This is one of those moments. I am beyond proud of myself.

After 13 years of writing, remembering, researching, reflecting, laughing, crying, deleting, rewriting, and occasionally wondering whether I would ever reach this point, the pre-edited manuscript for Being Love: Cultivating Inner Abundance & Joy is complete.

147,587 words. 525 pages. 39 chapters. Three stories.

And this week, I submitted the completed manuscript to the U.S. Copyright Office and met with my developmental editor to begin the next stage of bringing Being Love into the world.

Being Love is part transformational memoir and part exploration of what it means to cultivate love, abundance, connection, and joy from within. It weaves together personal stories, relationships, nature, nervous system science, systems thinking, and the lessons I have gathered through my own life and my work as a therapist.

At its heart is a question: What if the love you’ve been searching for isn’t outside of you, but has been waiting to grow within you all along?

There is still editing, refining, publishing, and plenty of work ahead.

But today, I am allowing myself to acknowledge this part.

I wrote the book.

Being Love is real.

And soon, I hope to share it with you.

An author.
