From Chaos to Calm

by Ellen S. Wright

October is the perfect month to reset, ground, and prepare for the busy season ahead. That’s why I created the From Chaos to Coping series—a 30-day journey designed to help you strengthen your emotional regulation, nurture your mental wellness, and find everyday stress relief.

Right now, so much of our attention is pulled toward chaos and conflict—whether in the world around us or within our own lives. It’s easy to feel swept up in the noise and uncertainty. But the truth is, we can only help ourselves and each other if we learn how to step out of chaos and find steadiness. When we regulate our own emotions, we create space for clarity, compassion, and connection. Coping skills aren’t just personal practices—they’re tools for resilience that ripple outward, shaping healthier relationships and communities.

Each day in October, I’ll be sharing a simple yet powerful coping skill you can practice in just a few minutes. These tools are body-centered, which means they work with the wisdom of your body to calm your mind and restore balance. You can expect a variety of techniques, including:

  • Breathing practices to steady the nervous system
  • Movement and grounding tools to release tension
  • Music and sound for emotional soothing
  • Meditations and guided visualizations for clarity
  • Sensory tools to anchor you in the present moment

The goal of this series is simple: to encourage you to practice self-regulation—not only for your own well-being but also for the health of your relationships. When we learn to pause, breathe, and respond rather than react, we create more peace within ourselves and more harmony with those around us. A beautiful world begins within.

Whether you’re managing daily stress, navigating big life changes, or simply looking to feel more centered, this series offers accessible tools you can return to again and again. Be Love, Ellen
