An experiential workshop that combines mental health education with body-centered practices to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and nervous system balance.
What if the mess was part of the healing?
Many of us were taught that art should be neat, controlled, or “good.” But in reality, creativity often begins in a place of scribbles, layers, uncertainty, and exploration. In other words… a mess.
The It’s a Mess Workshop invites participants to step away from perfection and into creative expression as a pathway to emotional awareness and nervous system regulation. Through a blend of art, music, reflection, and simple creative practices, participants will explore how creativity can help us process emotions, build confidence, and reconnect with ourselves.
In this experiential workshop, we will explore three creative approaches:
• Intuitive Scribble Art – releasing emotion through color and movement without planning or judgment
• Zentangle Drawing – using simple patterns to support focus, calm, and mindful attention
• Scribble-to-Mosaic Collage – transforming creative chaos into something new and meaningful
Along the way, we will also discuss how art and music influence the brain and nervous system, helping us move from stress and overwhelm toward regulation and clarity.
No artistic skill is required. This workshop is not about making perfect art—it is about allowing expression, embracing imperfection, and discovering what can emerge from the mess.
Sometimes when we allow things to get messy, we discover something beautiful underneath.
If you are curious about using creativity to support emotional wellbeing, this workshop is for you. Join us Saturday, March 14, 2026 3:00–4:30 PM Eastern /2:00–3:30 PM Central/ 12:00–1:30 PM Pacific/ 9:00 –10:30 AM Hawaii. If you are not able to attend the live workshop, it will be recorded.
